Why is Amazon so successful?

Amazon.com is a huge success, almost anything you type into Google now will draw up an Amazon result with something for you to buy. It seems like you can search for anything you want on Amazon, from blues guitar dvds to plastic spiders, and you are bound to find either Amazon selling it themselves, or a third-party merchant who sells it through them.

That must be why they are so successful, they have what you are searching for, shipping it usually quick and free, and the prices are some of the best around. I think that is pretty much everything I want from a website when I order online! Plus you need to be really careful who you give your credit card details to online, the site needs to be secure to stop people intercepting the data, and obviously you need to be sure they are actually going to deliver what they promised, you don’t have those worries when using Amazon.. Amazon store all my payment and delivery details on their servers, and I can now order in just a click or two. Of course that is quite dangerous to my bank balance as it can lead to lots of impulse purchases which soon add up ready for when you get the credit card statement through the post! After you have placed your order then they send you confirmation (it may seem like a small thing, but it is annoying when a company doesn’t confirm they have received your order) and send it out fast. Obviously it is slower if you use the free shipping as they need to send out the parcels for people who have paid first, but I have had it dispatched the same day before even with free shipping!
